Mineral waxes

Under mineral waxes, those commercial waxes will be treated which are derived from the earth as such or obtained from a mass of earthy origin by refining. They occur in petroleum, bituminous coal and slate and consist of unsaponifiable hydrocarbons, nearly all saturated. The melting point of these waxes increases in the order of their molecular weights, disregarding any contaminants which they may contain.
