Waxes from insects

The two principal groupings of the wax-producing insects are the Apidae, of which the honey bees are the outstanding members; and the Coccidae to which belong the Coccus ceriferus, the source of Chinese insect wax, and the Carteria lacca, source of stick-lac.[1].
